Invitation to join new NANDA International Expert Clinical Advisory Panel by Idowu Olabode : November 20, 2014, 07:11:59 AM
Dear Nurses:

The Board and the Diagnostic Development Committee (DDC) have recently decided to create a greater clinical focus within NANDA-I by establishing an Expert Clinical Advisory
Panel (ECAP).

The aim of the panel is to provide a volunteer bank of recognised, contemporary clinical experts who can advise the DDC Chair and members on relevant clinical issues specific to newly submitted and existing nursing diagnoses.

No previous experience of diagnostic
development, concept analysis or taxonomy work is required - simply a track record of achievement as an expert clinician.

No specific academic qualifications are required. However, to apply applicants must have reliable internet access, an email address and a willingness to respond to communications in a timely manner.

It is not anticipated that the workload will be great and it is unlikely that panel members would be contacted more than 3-4 times a year. You will not be required to attend meetings. As with all NANDA-I work, communication will be in English.

Benefits of applying to be an ECAP
volunteer include:

*free NANDA-I membership for one year,
 *a certificate of service,
*the opportunity to meet and network with      DDC members and other panel members at dedicated meetings within our conferences,
 *recognition within our publications and
*the opportunity to help us to improve our
work by championing your specialty.

It is also hoped that some ECAP volunteers will use their experience to apply for election to DDC in the future.

Applications will be considered by DDC on an on-going basis but in order to establish the panel it would be most helpful to receive initial applications by 1 January 2015.

Applications should be in the form of a curriculum vitae and sent to DDC Chair Professor Dickon Weir-Hughes, FNI at .

With kind regards,
T. Heather Herdman, RN, PhD, FNI
